Large antique Chancay Peruvian funerary doll, measures approximately 20” in length. Chancay burial dolls were used as part of the burial process for the Chancay people, placed in tombs during the funerary ceremonies. Most of the surviving original ancient dolls have been placed as grave furnishings and modern remakes have been made using ancient textiles that have been traded, found, and sourced from the Andes. Truly an incredible folk art piece of ancient history! Please note as this is an antique folk art piece made from antique an ancient textiles there is wear, staining, and imperfections to be expected please see all photos!
